Steins;Gate Episode 24 Achievement Point Q&A

Q:At what point does the β world line change to the Steins;Gate world line?

A:When Okabe and Suzuha are returning with the time machine to August 21st (After saving Kurisu).

The time machine returns almost a minute after it departs. After the first attempt to save Kurisu, Okabe and Suzuha return and see the news report about Nakabachi exiling to Russia with the thesis safe in his hands.

The requirements that need to be met to jump to the Steins;Gate world line is to 1)Save Kurisu, 2)Burn Nakabachi thesis that was stolen from Kurisu. When these requirements are fulfilled the world line changes.

Knowing that Nakabachi appears on the news almost a few minutes after the time machine returns, the thesis would have burned a few minutes before which is probably during the same time Okabe and Suzuha were making the trip back.

Q:Is there a divergence percentage for the Steins;Gate World Line?

A:In the world line where Suzuha phoned Okabe to tell him about WW3 and saving Kurisu the divergence percentage is set at 1.130205%. Steins;Gate is -0.081609% from that world line, so the answer would be 1.048596%. This number is also hidden within the Steins;Gate Logo.

Q: Wouldn’t Okabe that went to save Kurisu the second time meet the Okabe that tried to save Kurisu the first time?

A:By using the time machine the world line slightly changes. The world lines during the first and second attempt are different so Okabe does not meet the first Okabe that went to save Kurisu. (Explanation from the game). A similar theory was introduced by the real John Titor.

Q: Are Moeka and Mr Braun still part of the Rounders in Steins;Gate?

A:Unknown. In the original game it was mentioned Moeka (in the steins;gate world line) had to find the IBN5100 for her news editor job. Put it is uncertain if what she said was true.

Q: Who is Daru’s wife? and is it certain that she will give birth to Suzuha in the Steins;Gate world line?

A: Who is Daru’s future wife? click the link for the answer
The future for steins;gate remains unknown , but Daru and his wife meet and give birth to Suzuha in all the other world lines (α,β, and Ω) so there is a high probability they will give birth to her within Steins;Gate. The reason for this is the Steins;gate world line is not too far off from α,β,Ω, meaning the realities are similar. See the article on the Attractor Field Theory for a better understanding.

  1. I still dont understand, where did the Future Okabe that instructed the Present Okabe the plan of saving Kurisu come from? Since present Okabe suceeded and moved to Stein Gate world line, where did the beta world line future Okabe come from?

    • The future-Okabe disappears, same as Suzuha when they travel back. The moment they travel back after saving Kurisu, they change to the Steins;Gate world line.

The future Okabe would be the Okabe who did not attempt to save Kurisu a second time, which would have happened if the two D-mails would not arrive at that time.

  2. After future Okabe sends the video mail to the past, does his reading steiner actives and overwrites Okabe who saved Kurisu in the Steins; gate worldline?
If Suzuha and the time machine disappeared, how can Okabe returned to present?

    • No it does not overite the Okabe who saved Kurisu as they are from different worldlines or attractor fields

It is assumed that Suzuha and the time machine dropped Okabe off and right after disappeared, as Okabe had to go to the hospital to treat his injuries.

  3. I have a question: Why doesn’t the world diverge after the future okabe picks up the metal-uppa? Okabe should have the memory of getting the metal-uppa along with the memory that it’s worth 10,000 yen. But now that the future okabe changes that, the past okabe won’t have any memory of the metal-uppa and won’t that create a paradox? Also, why doesn’t the beta world-line try to prevent future okabe from getting the metal-uppa? It seems to me that the metal-uppa is essential to preventing the paper from getting burned so wouldn’t the beta world-line try to prevent the future okabe from getting the metal uppa to continue the beta world-line events (much like mayushii has to die in the alpha world-line)?

    • I am assuming that the Future Okabe you are talking about is actually the “Present” Okabe undergoing the mission to save Kurisu.

It didnt create a contradiction (paradox) because simply, the change was not big enough to affect past okabe’s decisions. Simply put, picking up a normal uppa than a Metal Uppa would not have drastically changed the construction of that worldline the past Okabe was in.

The final question’s answer is very hard but i think i got it. Picking the metal uppa would have not stopped the completion of the time machine, thats why the Beta Worldline didn’t try to stop Okabe from getting the metal uppa. It is known that the Beta World Line’s Major events are the Completion of a Time Machine and WWIII. Picking the Metal Uppa does mean that Nakabachi’s time machine papers would have been destroyed, but due to the conservation of time, a time machine would have been made anyway in the future. The moment Okabe saved Kurisu by faking her death shifted the world lines from beta to Steins Gate. Keep in mind that the Beta Worldline is still present, its just that it runs parallel with the other worldlines.
