The replica uses DTMF signals to send the instructions to the microwave. After sending the signals to a phone attached to the microwave, a decoder decodes the signals and tells the micro controller to operate a servo. The servo is attached to the time dial and sets the time based on the instructions. Including the microwave the cost of the equipment totaled to around 12000yen.
The timer display is attached to the main circuit board which operates the microwave. A DTMF decoder decodes the signals from the cellphone.
A servo turns the time dial on the microwave. The circuit board below processes Mayuri’s audio guidance.
Bananas are used for the experiment.
The time is entered remotely using a cellphone
The microwave starts up remotely from the cellphone.
